Six Houston-area musicians playing live country, classic rock, Tex-Mex and oldies — plus a growing set of originals — across Southeast Houston, Pearland, Friendswood and Clear Lake.
Fronted by singer-songwriter Brock Wilson, the band draws on decades of combined experience — from Ruben Loredo’s six decades on the accordion to Freddy Salinas’s three-plus decades behind the drums — and a shared history playing alongside a wide range of Houston-area artists and bands.
Whether it’s a packed dance floor, a backyard party, or a neighborhood honky-tonk, the band’s versatility keeps the night moving. The band brings its own professional PA and stage lighting to every show, making it an easy, turnkey booking for venues and private events alike — and they’re open to playing beyond their regular spots, with rates to accommodate most events.
Born and raised in Houston, Brock Wilson gravitated toward music — and country music in particular — growing up surrounded by musicians in his family and close friends who shared that same love of performing. He was soon DJing around Houston nightlife, which led him into recording and production, starting on a Vestax 4-track and later moving through Cubase and Logic. Over the years he has produced and played alongside a wide range of local artists and bands, including Roger Wayne Bailey, Lost2gether, Red Iris, Sister Moon, Antonio Estevan Huerta, Gary Flood & The Wharfratts, Little Joe & The Southern Brown Band, Soul Horizon, Tavia Brooks, Painting Bleu Birds, and Support Local Music (SLM). Today, as the voice and acoustic guitar behind Brock Wilson & The Loving County Band, he brings that same lifelong dedication to every show.
Bob King’s love of music started early — by age six he was already captivated by guitar, teaching himself to play by ear. Over the years he has played in bands spanning dance, country, and rock & roll tribute groups, with his name inspired by his favorite guitarist, the legendary B.B. King. Alongside Brock Wilson & The Loving County Band, Bob also plays with the horn band Modulation and the country group Little Joe and the Southern Brown Band. For Bob, music has always been about more than playing — it’s about the people, the memories, and the joy of making music together.
Stephen Gonzalez has been playing guitar for more than 20 years, beginning as a teenager studying and performing rock, metal, and jazz before expanding into country, blues, and acoustic music. Over the years his playing has ranged from progressive and hard rock to singer-songwriter and country styles. He brings that versatility to Brock Wilson & The Loving County Band on guitar and backing vocals, adding a rock-influenced edge to the band’s country sound.
Ruben Loredo has been playing accordion since 1960, and even carried his instrument with him while serving in the military during the Vietnam War. Over more than six decades, he has performed with numerous bands and was honored with a lifetime achievement award recognizing his musical talent and years of experience. Still going strong today, Ruben has no plans of slowing down anytime soon.
Oscar Gonzales is a natural-born music enthusiast and entertainer who brings that same energy to every performance, living life to the fullest both on and off the stage.
With more than 30 years behind the drums, Freddy Salinas is a seasoned Houston-area drummer known for his versatility and professionalism. Shaped by classic rock influences like Lynyrd Skynyrd, Led Zeppelin, and Boston, he has played with several local bands including Crossroads, Krakken, Dillon Street, and Checkered Past, and also serves as backup drummer for Little Joe and the Southern Brown Band. Today he brings that experience to Brock Wilson & The Loving County Band, driving everything from classic rock grooves to a packed country dance floor.
Open to booking beyond our regular Houston-area spots, with rates that can accommodate most events.
You guys sound amazing! I love the blend of the different styles of music.
We had such a great Friday night with you guys taking the stage. We didn’t know what to expect since we rarely have full bands, but it was a huge success and our numbers for the night exceeded our expectations. We look forward to having you guys come back for another show soon.
Scientifically speaking, Brock Wilson & The Loving County Band kicked an unreasonable amount of ass at Saloon Door West. The research is still being peer-reviewed, but everyone in the taproom can confirm.
